To take out a Craft Insurance policy, you must be a permanent resident of the UK, Isle of Man or the Channel Islands. If you meet that requirement and you make or sell crafts in any capacity, you’re almost certainly eligible.
Yes. Your public and product liability cover applies at any event you attend in relation to your craft — indoors or outdoors, with no limit on the number of events. It also covers online sales, rent-a-shelf arrangements, and selling through other retailers’ shops. Professional indemnity is included as standard, so you’re covered to teach and demonstrate your craft too.
There is no excess on public and product liability. We can’t tell you exactly which level of cover to choose, since that depends on your own circumstances and what any event organisers require, but our team is always happy to talk it through with you.
Your Craft Insurance policy covers you to attend, sell, teach and demonstrate at events, and you can run your own exhibition or show. It does not cover you to organise a craft fair or market where you invite other stallholders to take part. If you need to organise an event of that kind, you’ll need a separate policy with a different insurer.
